Rare, bilateral talks between senior Lebanese and Israeli officials set for Tuesday in Washington could pave the way for a ceasefire — but almost no one appears to believe that will happen. There is dismay and a feeling of hopelessness across Lebanon as it reels from the aftermath of Israel’s ferocious attack on Wednesday that killed over 300 people.
